Homework
Homework assignments will be due every Tuesday. No late homework will be accepted. Follow all directions. Pay specific attention to the materials that are to be used for each of the assignments. Be creative and fill the entire page. Each assignment is worth 25 points.

Create a drawing of one of your possessions coming to life.  For example, your alarm clock with legs tip toeing out of your bedroom.

Draw five objects from your art box.  Objects must be overlapping and drawn large to fill the space.  Two objects should be going off the edge of the paper.

Draw what you think a garden would look like from the view of an insect. Include foreground, middle ground and background.

Draw a boat or a car that you would like to travel around the world in.  Try to indicate where you would go first.

Draw your pet at play, sleeping, or doing an activity in your home or outside. Use a picture or draw from life.

Arrange three related objects (3 kitchen items, 3 shoes, sports equipment, etc.) on a flat surface.  Aim a single light source towards the objects.  Lightly draw the objects then add a full range of values.

Sharpies and colored pencils

Draw a close up of various pieces from a game. You can choose the game pieces, the board, box etc.  Think of this assignment as an advertisement for the game.

Using fruit or vegetables from home, set 2-3 on a table and draw them.  Apply a full range of values.

Draw a magnifying glass and what it is magnifying as well as the space around it that is unmagnified.

Draw or design a vehicle.  This can be a car, spaceship, airplane, boat, motorcycle or anything you want.  Include details and make it big.

Create a zoom in drawing of a set of keys.  Give them dimension and focus on the sharp lines of the cuts.  Remember to draw large and fill the page.  Add a full range of values.

What does the holiday season really mean to you?  Avoid common images – meaning if you choose to show holiday gifts – SHOW THEM IN A CREATIVE WAY!  No snowmen.

Draw the inside of a Drawer:  Make a line drawing of the contents of a partially open drawer. The junk drawer in a kitchen would work well. Think Composition!

Create a contour drawing of a shoe.  Use thick and thin lines to create the drawing.

Multi – Media

Draw a glass of water with a spoon in it:  Focus on distortion caused by the water on the spoon. Don’t forget that the glass has dimension and distortion occurs on all edges.  Glass should be drawn on a table and include a background.

Create a book illustration for your favorite childhood book.

Draw an object melting.  No candles.  Don’t forget a background

Multi - Media

Your boss at Fairmount Advertising has given you your biggest assignment.  A new hardware store (The Tool Shed) has opened and they hired your company to create its logo.  Use a tool from a hardware store in your design.

West Geauga High School will be purchasing new lockers for next year.  The Art I students are being asked to design the inside and the outside of the new locker.  Use your imagination and be creative.  There is no limit.
