Principal's Message

Happy Spring Lindsey Families!

The weather in Northeast Ohio doesn’t always support the season we are in, but you have to appreciate all the beauty that comes with the rain, snow, flowers and beautiful sunshine!  We do get a nice mix throughout the year!

Many, many thanks to our PTO for organizing another wonderful two days of “Lunch with a Loved One” right before spring break.  We had so many loved ones come out to have lunch with our students and it was so much fun! Please also know how much we appreciated the support of our PTO through our gift basket raffle.  We had amazing baskets and so many who purchased tickets in an attempt to win them! All of that money goes right back to the Lindsey PTO, who continue to do great things for Lindsey Elementary School.

Now that spring break has concluded, we set our sights on the last quarter of the school year!  It always feel unbelievable that we are at this point again where we begin planning end of the year celebrations of success, concerts, field trips and spring events!  So much will take place between now and our last day of school on June 7th! Please keep a close eye on the Weekly Update, as we will do our best to continue our thorough communication to you about upcoming events and specific details surrounding them.

Ohio State Tests begin for students in grades three through five over the next few weeks.  Our 3rd and 4th graders will take ELA and math, while our 5th graders will take ELA, math and science.  The dates are posted in our Weekly Update and a letter was sent home, which includes them as well. We need your help to ensure our students are at school on time, well rested and fed and ready to do their best!  We have all the confidence in the world in our students and expect Lindsey to perform strongly again this year.

Finally, please be on the lookout for the “Student Placement Parent Feedback Form for 19-20.”  This provides you an opportunity to have some input into your child’s placement for the 19-20 school year.  As many of you know, I do not accept specific teacher requests, but I definitely want to take into consideration the type of teacher you feel your child will do best with.  If you have input, please fill out the form and return it to the Lindsey main office via your child, if you don’t have any, there is no need to fill out the form. We will begin the process of class list formulation in May as vertical teams, to ensure all the key stakeholders in your child’s education have a voice.  Please let me know if you have any questions at all!

Take care and don’t ever hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns or feedback.  Keep your fingers crossed for more sunshine and flowers and no more snow! Best wishes for a great final quarter of the 18-19 school year!
