Principal's Message

Happy New Year Lindsey Families!

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful holiday season with family and friends.  The staff and I are rested, rejuvenated and ready to tackle the second semester.  We saw so many successes throughout the first part of the year and are excited to build upon those these next few months.  Welcome back!

Initially, we will spend some time with students reviewing our three school expectations of Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Ready to Learn.  We will talk about what these look like and sound like in all areas of the building.  Our kids do an excellent job of consistently demonstrating these, but a refresher is always helpful!  Relationship strengthening is also an ongoing component we will continue to focus on.  Trust-building activities and establishing mutual respect help foster an effective learning environment within the building.  This is always a work in progress and must be tended to consistently, as relationships are the foundation with which everything else builds upon.

The second semester also brings about deeper learning and intensified rigor when it comes to curriculum and standards.  Teachers will continue their collaborative ways each week to make sure their assessments align to their instruction and the needs of each and every student are being addressed in each lesson.  It’s by far one of the most difficult and time-consuming tasks of teaching, but hands down the most important.  Our staff has been relentless in their pursuit of true differentiation.

We are excited for the second half of the school year and all that accompanies it.  Be on the lookout for One School, One Book, a school-wide writing emphasis, math night, Lunch with a Loved One and many more exciting opportunities to come together over learning.

A new year brings about new beginnings and although we will continue to build on what was started in August of 2017, we embrace a renewed energy behind learning and growing.  We will continue to work together to ensure all staff and students experience that and are so happy you are a part of those efforts from the home front.  Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to continuing our partnership throughout our pursuits.  Happy 2018!
