Rules and Responsibilities

BE RESPECTFUL!

Use common courtesy, respect others and their ideas, use language and technology appropriately. Say “Thank you,” “Please,” “Excuse me,” and use appropriate language at all times. You are expected to listen to all directions and allow others to do the same. Necessary talking should be directed toward the art experience, and it should not be disruptive, negative, or interrupt another student’s chance to learn. No “Rude” statements will be tolerated, especially about other people or their artwork. No cell phone use allowed in the art room at any time.

Keep your hands and feet to yourself at all times!

BE RESPONSIBLE!

Be an active learner, ask for help and be honest. Come prepared to work. Weekly homework assignments are due one week after being assigned. If you have three or more home works not turned in, you will receive a a phone call or note home mailed.

BE READY TO LEARN!

Be on time and prepared for class with materials. You are to arrive and be seated prior to the bell. A late pass is expected if you are late. Daily supplies include your art materials and your sketchbook. You will not be allowed to go back to your locker. If your art supplies are lost it is your responsibility to replace them.

ABOUT PASSES:

Restroom and hallway passes are discouraged and will be given only rarely, at the teacher’s discretion.

OTHER EXPECTATIONS:

LISTENING: Good listening skills are to be practiced each day. Pay attention during instructions and demonstrations. Let the teacher teach!

LABEL YOUR WORK: Write your name, homeroom and class period on the back of your work in pencil. Artwork will not be considered turned in and/or points will usually be taken off if it does not have your name, homeroom and class period on it.

NO FOOD, OR DRINK IN THE ART ROOM!

ALL SCHOOL RULES DO APPLY!

BE RESPONSIBLE!

  • It is your responsibility to clean up your work area: table, floor around your table, and put away all of your supplies 5 minutes before the bell.
  • If you miss a class due to absence, see the teacher for any work you may have missed, including homework.
  • Your best behavior is your personal responsibility. Avoiding inappropriate behaviors will discourage needless emails and phone calls home, detentions, or trips to the principal’s office.
  • You are expected to do your best, original and creative artwork every day!

NEGLECTING YOUR ART ROOM RESPONSIBILITIES WILL RESULT IN THE FOLLOWING CONSEQUENCES:

  1. Verbal warning
  2. Change in seating assignment
  3. Writing assignment
  4. Work detention
  5. In extreme situations, the student will be sent directly to the office.

In all cases, an email or phone call will be made to your home.

During art class Mrs. Klemm and we, as students, have reviewed all of our responsibilities. I personally understand and accept the responsibilities in the art room, as well as the above consequences.
