On November 19th, 2003, the one and only 8th period Accounting class took a field trip to Allstate Insurance. The class left around 9:10, Wednesday morning. After a long bus ride to Hudson, Ohio, they reached their destination. A variety of employees then spoke to the class about Accounting and how Allstate manages their money in and out. One big lesson they taught was to try and find a way to make your job and/or school fun. Then the class was split into two groups and taken on a 25 minute tour of the building. The tour took us to rooms where employees were hard at work, to the top floor where the server is kept, and all the way to the basement where the backup batteries are stored for the entire building. After the tour, the class then met up once again for lunch. They ate in the employee cafeteria where they were served with a wonderful buffet of salad, pasta, and desserts. The class sat down and got to spend time one on one with some of the employees at Allstate Insurance. After the long day of learning, the class headed back onto the bus for the long ride back to Chesterland, Ohio. How ironic is this? They made it back just in time for the end of 8th period Accounting class!
