Houser has left the Building

The wait is over. Mrs. Houserís classes finally have a replacement teacher. With Mrs. Houser out on sick leave indefinitely, her classes had been without a ďregularĒ teacher for several weeks. Mrs. Nancy Davis had been substituting for Mrs. Houser since the first of December. She had taken over Mrs. Houserís lesson plans and was teaching her humanities seminar, junior Advanced Placement English, senior honors and creative writing classes since then. The papers written by students were sent to Mrs. Houser at home, where she was grading them and sending them back. The short notice and lack of available English teachers in the middle of the year made it difficult to find a replacement.
Mr. Legan told a friend of his that there was an opening at West Geauga. This friend was Mr. Martin Flox. Mr. Flox went to Ohio State for college and received a teaching degree. He then taught for eight years in the Columbus Public Schools. He eventually left teaching and went into business, serving as the vice president of a leasing company for eight years. However, he wanted to go back into teaching, so this September he started substitute teaching. He has now taken over Mrs. Houserís classes. Mrs. Davis stayed for a week to help Mr. Flox get acclamated. Mr. Flox plans on using Mrs. Houserís lesson plans as guidelines but will also teach materials not covered by those plans.
