The Lady Wolverine Basketball team has high ambitions for the season. With
a conference championship and success in the post-season on their minds, the
girls started training hard as the beginning of the month. With a few practices
behind them, captains Julie Murawski and Kristen Chapic are optimistic about
their senior season.
This is the best team weve had since Ive been on varsity. Julie explained further, Everyone is qualified to play at the varsity level. We each fulfill the role we have, and the younger girls are all really eager to learn from our experience.
Julies statement could not be closer to the truth. The team has seven returning varsity players, including four returning seniors. The term standout probably wont be used heavily this year as they are all very talented. From a record of 8-12 last year, the team predicts their final record will be 16-4. They also hope to advance to the regional final in the post-season.
The girls took on NDCL at home in their first game on November 29th, but came out on the short end, losing by a final score of 49 - 34.
