Rivals flip out Together

You may have seen students from two of West Geaugas biggest rivals in
our territory. Dont worry! They arent vandalizing the property;
as a matter of fact, these girls have become a part of West Geaugas varsity
Because of a lack of equipment and/or coaching staffs, girls from Chagrin and NDCL come to West Geauga to practice gymnastics on a daily basis. While NDCL has practicied with our gymnasts in the past, this is Chagrins trial year for rival combination. When it comes time for competition, however, the three teams will be competing against each other once again.
The coaches, Mr. Don Schutz, Mr. Wes Rogge, and Chagrin head coach Mr. Frank Rico, seem very optimistic about the upcoming season. With seniors Kelly Brzezicki, Linsie Duffy, Renee Evenatich, and Lindsey and Jill Pavilonis leading the way, the team is bound to be phenomenal.
Coach Rogge singled out Renee. Renee has been working really hard, and it definitely shows. Shes going to be awesome this year. As well as great seniority, returning sophomore state champion on beam, Gina Gastaldo, will also be someone to look for this winter.
Ironically, the teams biggest threat happens to be one of the teams who practices with them every day - NDCL. At the end of the year, it appears that how they compete against the Lions could be the determining factor as to whether or not they appear in the state championship meet.
Come cheer the girls on in their first meet at home on December 10 at 7p.m. Good luck girls!
