The New Lineup
Four new teachers join the WGHS staff this year

This twenty-two year old from Rockcreek, Ohio graduated from Jefferson Area High School and went on to Hiram College to study education and math. Volleyball is one of Mr. Krippel's favorite pastimes; he is currently the freshman girls volleyball coach.
How he ended up at West G:
Mr. Krippel requested a position teaching math in a good school district. West Geauga soon contacted him to offer him the opening in their math department. "I love working with kids, and I love teaching math," said Krippel.
Most embarrassing high school moment:
Good question...?
Mr. Krippel enjoys playing volleyball and snowboarding. He also loves the outdoors and nature.
Favorite TV Show:
That 70's Show

Mrs. Miley is a graduate of Ohio State and John Carroll. She has been a guidance counselor for six years and this will be her tenth year with West G.
How she ended up at West G:
Nine years ago she heard about a job offer here in the district and decided to apply. She ended becoming the new special education teacher at Lindsey and Westwood. She then became strictly stationed at Lindsey Elementary.
Most embarrassing high school moment:
Mrs. Miley simply replied with, Id rather not share that moment. It is too embarrassing to share.
Mrs. Miley enjoys reading, watching Ohio State basketball games, and taking her son, Carter, to the zoo.
Favorite TV show:

Mrs. Hurst is an alumna of Mayfield High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Toldedo and then her graduate degree from John Carroll.
How she ended up at West G:
"I called West Geauga looking for an opening: then I was interviewed by Principal Mueller and we both agreed that this was the right place for me," remembers Mrs. Hurst. She lives in Chardon, so West Geauga is just a short drive away.
Most embarrassing high school moment:
Someone once fell into Hurst and left her with gum tangled in her hair. "I was humiliated," recalled Mrs. Hurst.
Mrs. Hurst's favorite sports are softball and racquetball. In addition, she enjoys sewing and gardening. Mrs. Hurst also relishes the time she spends with her daughter.

Third Watch

After high school Mr. Rice took a year off to ski and snowboard with his buddies in Breckenridge, Colorado before attending Case Western Reserve University. At Case he was captain of the ice hockey team. Right after graduation last June, he married his high school sweetheart and prom date. "It all happened so fast," said Mr. Rice with an incredulous smile, "I mean high school, college, a wife, a job. it was just one after another."
How he ended-up at West G:
When Mr. Svoboda retired, Mr. Rice jumped at the job. "I'd heard West Geauga was an excellent school, and I was right. I love it here."
Most Embarrassing High School Memory:
Wearing his speedo on the swim team
Ice hockey (still plays), woodworking, canoeing (built his own canoe), skiing
Favorite TV Show:
When he's not watching The Discovery Channel, it's The Simpsons for him.
