Farewell From The Principal
Check out Mr. Mueller's farewell letter:
Each year in the final volume of the Whirlwind I bid farewell to the senior class. This year, I also say goodbye to West Geauga High School as I move on in my own career. Here goes.
Congratulations! Now get busier and more serious than you’ve ever been. Graduation is not an ending - it’s a beginning. As you move on, remember that the fun is really in the journey – have fun!
I’ve enjoyed this part of your journey. You’ve come a long way, and there is a long way to go! Get after it - and do it right! Life is not always fair. Buck up, stay strong, and believe in yourself. I have always said “The Finest students in America walk through the doors of WGHS every day.” Now, walk out and prove it. I know you can do it.
Remember our “high fives.” Pinto, Coop, Schin-diddy, Chad (Moses), B. Wright, “Killer” and Vlad are some of the names that will always be in my heart. I will always be in awe of the incredible talent of Beers, Melanie Plank, Tortorice, Kat Lee and Megan Messer; the determination of Cribari and Cowper; the brilliance of Cizek, Murry, McCormick, Ian and Saracino, and the dignity and class of Katelyn Williams. The rest of you (insert your name here) know the special relationship we have shared. Thank you for the honor of being your Principal.
West G -
One of the assignments in applying for my new job was to write a letter saying goodbye to West Geauga. In essence, here is that letter, and my goodbye.
I can’t believe I am leaving. West is Best, and I love West Geauga High School. But I must leave.
It hurts me.
You have been my life. I want the world to know how terrific you are. You deserve the best, and I just thought that I could get that for you. I have tried. I hope I helped, in some small way, to support you in pursuit of your goals – it’s all I wanted to do.
I will go - and I will forever carry you in my heart. I will always be there for you if you need me.
While a school’s work is never done, much work has been done. Good things will continue to happen, and West G will continue to be “Excellent.” I wish you only the best.
I am going to Perry, and I will give them everything I’ve got, except for that part of me that I’ve already given you. I think that’s a lot, but it’s nothing compared to what you’ve given me.
