It Takes Five

The junior varsity boys basketball this team is all jacked up on Mountain Dew, just waiting to unload 100 points on some poor team. The team is led by the new head coach, Mr. John Cardiero. Mr. Cardiero previously coached here from 1992-1996. The team consists of fourteen sophomores and two juniors. Making the team this year were William Drockton, Brett Williams, Adam Andrews, John Difranco, Jeremy Estes, Zachary Farmer, Ryan Fowler, Spencer Kershaw, Nikolas Mannella, Matthew Molle, Kyle Mooney, Samson Pettegrew, Joshua Puskar, Zachary Stone, Derek Visner, and Dylan Zurcher.
The team had its first game at Hawken on November 28th and suffered a devastating first loss. After that game, the team tried to rebound with a victory versus Kenston but, once again, fell short. The team then came out with determined looks on their faces and proceeded to pound Geneva and get the win by 20. Sophomore Ryan Fowler said, “The team is going to come around and start playing good ball soon.”
Coach Cardiero still has a positive outlook on the team saying, “We have a chance to be very successful.”
The team has eight more home games this year that all tip off at 6pm. They hope you can get out of the house and support them!
