L.E.A.F. stands for the Lake/Geauga Educational Assistance Foundation. L.E.A.F. began in 1989 with the vision of a local businessman who wanted more for Lake County’s youth.
The L.E.A.F. representative who comes to West Geauga is Mrs. Nancy McKeon. A resident of Chardon, she is married and is the mother of two kids. She has a bachelor degree from Bowling Green State University, majoring in science and business. Mrs. McKeon’s job is to guide seniors through the financial aid process.
First, Mrs. McKeon meets with the applicants who want to apply for financial aid to discus the type of financial aid that is right for them. She also helps them file financial aid paperwork, scholarship searches, and she then helps students find out which colleges are right for them.
The L.E.A.F. services are 100% free of charge and are offered to anyone who seeks the program’s help. Financial aid is rather complex and always changing, so the L.E.A.F. program encourages all students to meet with Mrs. McKeon or other L.E.A.F. representatives.
