Girls Track, Holla Back
by Tim Balkovec, Staff Writer

The girls track team is energized for this season, with returning state placers in juniors Elle Javorek and Paige Rispoli, as well senior co-captain Haley Ebersbacher. The track team is now Division I and will have a more challenging road to state. Coach Mr. Mike Taurasi, in his 7th year, has quite a haul in front of him.
“Too bad we have jumped up to Division I because our talent could definitely take us back to State in Division II,” Coach Taurasi said.
Girls track has always been successful in the past and it will be no different this year. At the West Geauga Invitational, the only home meet of the year, they finished 3rd as sophomore Stephanie Brinning pulled out first place in long jump. “Distance is awesome and sprinters can’t run,” said co-captain Deanna Cribari who is a proud distance runner.
“Track season is going to be fun and were going to states,” said Haley Ebersbacher, who is always optimistic about the season.
The season has begun and is off to a great start. The girls team is young but filled with talent and looking for another great season, filled with success.
