Mock Trial Gets A Tough Break
by Jordan Jukiewicz, Co-Editor

Unfortunately, the West Geauga Mock Trial team was unable to attend the annual 2008 Mock Trial event due to the cancellation of school the very day of the competition. My question to the administration, however, was why athletes headed out to districts that very same day, but Mock Trial, an academic club, was forced to withdrawal from the competition? Reasons for allowing the wrestlers to head out and not letting the mock trial team attend their event had to do with scheduling and bus departure timing. Basically awful weather early in the morning led to the team’s demise. Consequently, the entire team felt extremely disappointed having to miss the event. They spent much of the year preparing for it and having a snow day was just pure bad luck!
Advisor Mrs. Sessler was nice enough to answer questions and she had this to say about the 2008 Mock Trial team: “All the students did a great job in preparing for the competition and due to unfortunate circumstances, they weren’t able to participate. Hopefully, we’ll have better luck next year.”
To all of the Mock Trial members, the Whirlwind would like to send its sincerest apologies for the unfortunate snow day. Best of luck next year, guys!
