October is a busy month for H.U.G.S. with several group-leading seminars and the annual Kickoff for Kindness. On Wednesday, October 10, group leaders for Project Love traveled to Willowick Middle School.
When the group leaders arrived at Willowick, they were assigned a group of approximately seven sixth grade students. In these groups they discussed issues, like teasing, in their schools. After a long day of discussion, videos, and articles promoting kindness, the middle school students left with a better idea of how to be rescuers, those who stand up to a perpetrator, instead of bystanders, those who stand by and do nothing to help the victim, in their schools.
On October 23 at the Geauga West Library there was a group leader training for the new members of HUGS.
