Wrap it Up Volleyball Girls

With their regular season ending with a record of 11-10, the volleyball
girls are pretty proud of how the season ended up. “Even with a little
over .500 season I’m still content with us,” said senior Caitlin
Insana. “Our last two regular season games were what our team is all
about.” Caitlin was talking about the games versus Aurora and then Perry.
“They used to walk all over us and now we beat them both in the minimum
three games out of five.”
Unfortunately, the team didn’t win the CVC this year, as the seniors
have wanted to do since their freshman year. “We got a lot of tough
breaks and things didn’t always go our way, but this season was lots
of fun,” said senior Christina Gademer.
Senior night was October 9th versus Perry. Seniors Christina Gademer, Caitlin
Insana, Jordan Jukiewicz, Abbey Sims and Kathleen Dolphin were recognized
before the game with flowers and the whole team’s dream came true when
they got to sing the pre-game National Anthem together.
The first sectional game was Monday, October 15 versus Jefferson at Jefferson.
The girls had to jet off after school, make the hour hike to the middle of
nowhere and play at 4:30. With big performances from Caitlin Insana with 12
kills and junior Paige Rispoli with key blocks the girls won in three games
out of five. Next up was Geneva, who gave West Geauga their first loss of
the season. On Wednesday the 17th the team played arguably one of the best
matches of their season and upset the Eagles in 4 games winning the title
Sectional Champs.
