The West Geauga Academic Challenge team put on a show at Case Western Reserve last Saturday.The team began competition at the early time of 8:00 am, after just drinking their final cup of coffee, the team began its journy to advance to the championship bracket. The first opponent was a strong St. Edwards, who beat West Geauga.The following game, West G faced University School in the next match and again lost. With an 0-2 start, things were looking down until West G pulled off its first victory over Madison by a score of 384 to 20! The team caught fire as it went on a 4-0 when they reached Lakewood who beat the team by a mere 20 points to end the winning streak. The team bounced back and won their final game finishing 4th in the tournament out of 9. Leading the pack for West G was Jeff Hink who finished 4th among 85 other participants in scoring. The team looks forward to another tournament on Saturday March 26, 2010 where they will hope to place in the top 3 teams.
