The future of the Wolverette season for the 2012-2013 school year was decided this past week, as the clinics were conducted! The clinics began on April sixteenth and concluded on the twentieth, with the final tryouts on that Friday. This year brought in more than thirty hopeful girls from eighth grade and up. The girls came to the first clinic day ready to work hard and willing to learn tons of new information about being a Wolverette. The girls who tried out had to learn the basic fundamentals of marching and memorization drills, eight different types of Wolverette kicks, the famed "fight song" dance, and an intricate dance that was over a minute long. The two captains of the 2011-2012 season, seniors Janelle Aden and Maria Tripodo, conducted the tryouts and taught the girls everything they needed to know to have a successful tryout. Along with advisor Mrs. Zannetti and marching band director Mr. Branch, everyone could agree that the girls improved remarkably and showed a lot of talent. In the end, fourteen lucky girls were accepted onto the squad for 2012-2013 Wolverette season, with new captains Anna Tremaglio and Rachel Gasdick ready to take their place as leaders. Congratulations to everyone on their hard work and effort!
