The 2000 Homecoming Court!
Ali was president of her class both freshman and sophomore years. She was the recording secretary her junior year, and is currently the vice president. As a co-founder of the inspirational group, H.U.G.S., Ali has served as a treasurer, vice president, and now, president. She has also been a Project Love Group Leader and S.T.A.R.S. group leader and speaker. Ali has given large amounts of her time to Key Club and served on the West Geauga Continuous Improvement Program Planning Team. She has also been nominated for Student of the Month for Kiwanis. Ali maintains a 3.35 GPA. She is a teacher's aid, main office aid, and works on the yearbook staff. She also tutors 6th graders 3 times a week and volunteers for National Honor society service projects. Ali has an after school job but still has time to spend with her family and friends.
Being the youngest of five children, Gia is writing the final chapter of the Calo Family at West Geauga High School. Gia has been a Student Council representative and volunteered her time for many of the school's social events. On the field, she participated as a second baseman for the J.V. and Varsity softball team. And has been a J.V. and Varsity basketball cheerleader. Gia will study Fashion Design and Merchandising in college. Outside of school, Gia has participated in the women's summer softball league, and is currently coaching the Chardon Lions Club Gator cheerleaders. Gia works at a restaurant and does babysitting for her many nieces and nephews. Gia enjoys spending time with her family, having fun with her friends, and working hard to have a successful future are the things that are valued most in Gia's life.
Carrie DeRamo, is always on the move. She has been a member of Key Club for 3 years, Student Council for 2 years, basketball for 3 years. Last April, Carrie was chosen by the Athletic Boosters "Student of the Month". Carrie has been active in Chesterland's Service Clubs. For many years, she has helped with the Rotary Breakfast with Santa, The Education Foundation Thanksgiving Breakfast, and the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast. Carrie has also participated in the AID's walk for 2 years. Carrie designs and makes her own beaded and hemp jewlery. She enjoys playing the piano, drawing and spending time with her family and friends.
Throughout Jesse's high school years, she has shown enthusiasm and leadership as an active member of Student Council for 4 years. Jesse is an avid athlete. She has played fast pitch softball, run track, and played J.V. and Varsity volleyball. She is a three-year varsity basketball player and a 2 year starter. Jesse maintains a 3.5 grade point average, and is a member of the National Honor Society. Jesse has participated in the following community service activities: the Chagrin River Land Conservancy, the Blonde Haired Braces Club, Rec Council basketball, and Camp Cheerful on behalf of the Rec. League of Cleveland. Jesse enjoys travel as well as fly-fishing with her dad in her spare time.
Heather Scott is currently the President of Student Council. She worked her way up to this position by being a four year member. She was a class representative her freshman and sophomore years, and served as corresponding secretary her junior year. She has also been on the yearbook staff and is a member of Key Club. Heather teaches preschool PSR classes at St. Anselm's Church and has participated in the AID's walk. Heather was on the basketball team for 2 years, volleyball team for 4 years, and softball for 4 years. Heather maintains a 3.25 grade point average. She hopes to attend Ohio State University in the fall and study architecture. Outside of all her activities, her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family and friends, who mean so much to her.
