Greetings West Geauga parents and students!
I hope this finds you and your families well and that you are enjoying your summer. It is with great honor that I accepted the West Geauga High School principal position. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to work with you and the West Geauga community.
As many of you already know, I have a long standing history as a West G Wolverine. I began my career teaching Technology Education upon graduating from Kent State University. Throughout my teaching career I was an advisor for West G TV and coached wrestling and golf. I served on several committees including West Geauga’s Long Range Planning and the District Technology Committees. While teaching I sought a Masters of Administration Degree from John Carroll University. After several years of teaching I decided to pursue a new path in Administration and thus interviewed for the Assistant Principal position in which I served for the last 4 years.
There are so many strong qualities our school district possesses. We are fortunate to have excellent parent involvement. The teachers our school has are some of the very best. They truly care about our students and try each and every day to go above and beyond to teach your children so that they may succeed in finding their individual path.
It is my desire to continue to do everything in my power for West Geauga to excel on a local and state level. We are proud to be nominated by the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program for their prestigious award which means we have been recognized the by the United States Department of Education as a school where its students perform at very high levels. There are a lot of factors that go into being a Nation Blue Ribbon School but it boils down to the outstanding students, parents and educators who are committed to seeing children succeed in the classroom.
I look to our future in which we attain continued success and recognition for our achievements. Technology has transformed the way we communicate and live our daily lives. It can also be a very important instructional tool in the classroom and we are continually looking to make great strides into incorporating it into the High School’s education experience. You will learn and hear more about that as the year goes on as we implement a Bring Your Own Device Program (BYOD) and Google for Education.
In addition, I want to introduce Ron Dahlhoffer as the new Assistant Principal. Mr. Dahlhofer comes to us from the Middle School where he served as Assistant Principal. Prior to that he was a middle school math teacher, coach and instructional leader. I look forward to working with Mr. Dahlhofer at the high school.
Most of all, I want to thank you for the positive feedback I have received upon accepting this new position. But, also I want to thank you for allowing us the pleasure of being a part of your child's learning day in and day out. Your children are your most precious valuables and we thank you for sharing them with us and allowing us to share our knowledge with them.
Best wishes for an outstanding 2013-2014 school year ahead. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
