In November the West Geauga High School cheer team had their long – awaited “debut” on the big screen: to be more specific, the Quicken Loans Arena JUMBOTRON ! The West Geauga girls, along with cheerleaders from 40 other local high schools, spent 3 hours at Cleveland State University, learning a new dance that would be performed during the Cavalier’s pregame festivities. West Geauga High School Families,

Winter vacation is quickly approaching and so are midterm exams. Please take a moment to review the midterm exam schedule. This schedule allows time for students who may be absent during the week to make up a test prior to the long vacation.

The links to the midterm exam schedule and midterm week attendance procedures are below.

Students, please make sure you get a good night’s rest and eat a good breakfast prior to arriving for your exams. These are important exams that make up 10% of your overall course grade.

I wish all of you a safe and relaxing holiday season.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Jay C. Bishop

High school principal, Mr. Jay Bishop and our new high school media specialist, Mrs. Sarah Thrasher, have been working hard to give the school “advice.” Starting this November, every Tuesday and Thursday, the school is bringing in a guest speaker to talk to the students about current and relevant topics to their teen aged lives. Freshman and sophomores will be attending the speaker sessions on Tuesday’s, while juniors and seniors attend on Thursday’s during their advisory periods.

The West Geauga girls varsity soccer team ended the 2017 season with a record of 3-8-2 (win-loss-tie). The team was led this year by new head coach, Ms. Kori Chapic, who said, “This season was one for building and learning about the game and for me to be able to learn about my players and what drives them the most.” Earning the trust of the players was Coach Chapic’s first priority. Speaking of trust, the players should trust what Coach Chapic is telling them.
