West Geauga students at all levels recently took part in special activities to celebrate the importance of the arts.

Said instructor Maryann Rodin, “March is Youth Art Month (YAM) across the United States, and is a time for art educators to showcase their students artwork. We host a show during the senior citizens community dinner, at the Board office, and at the Geauga West library. During the shows we get the opportunity to present what we're doing in our classrooms to the community.”

As part of the process, students submit pieces to be place at various shows. Rodin said, “The students get very excited when their work is selected to be showcased. It also gives the students a chance to see what is going on during art class throughout the district K-12.”
