West G Chromebook Program Enjoys Successful Rollout

After the first year of the One-to-One Chromebook program rollout at West Geauga High School, Director of Technology and Operations, Sean Whelan, offered a review of the program at the June 24th Board of Education meeting.
Based on the success of the program, Whelan recommended to the Board that the take home pilot program be continued, with Chromebooks included for use from first through twelfth grade. “We rolled out a take home pilot program for 9th graders last year,” said Whelan. “We were pleased with the way that the program ran this year and look forward to continuing it so all 9th and 10th graders will have a 1:1 device.”
Each take home Chromebook is protected with GoGuardian software, a web filtering service to prevent students from looking at inappropriate content.
