Russell Police Chief Guest Reader at Westwood

Westwood students have enjoyed several guest readers during their recent library sessions in observation of Book Award Season. Librarian Sandy Murray arranged to have community members come as guests to read to the students.

Chief Tim Carroll of the Russell Police Department was one of those guest readers. He spent some time with second grade students reading the 1996 Caldecott winner, Officer Buckle and Gloria.

By encouraging community participation, the students have the opportunity to engage with new people who can be a positive role model who stresses the importance of reading.
