Technology and Operations

 The Technology and Operations Department supports the district by overseeing buildings and grounds, food service, maintenance, technology, and transportation. 
The department manages the operation of construction projects, permanent improvement projects, such as repairs to classrooms or buildings, and recommends methods to improve the efficiency, cost effectiveness and safety of our facilities.
Because of advances in technology, teachers now have a greater opportunity to enhance the curriculum; students have more resources to assist them with learning; parents have additional tools to keep abreast of their children's progress; and the community has quick access to school district information via the Internet.

The advances in technology have created many opportunities and challenges for the district. Efforts are continuing to provide planning, technical support, policy development and enforcement, professional development, security, infrastructure updates, communications, budgeting and maintenance of equipment.

Any proposed equal for a Standard shall be submitted to the Architect no later than ten (10) days prior to the bid opening.  If no Addenda are issued in association with the Bidder’s request, the proposed Equal shall be considered rejected. 

Sealed bids will be received for:


Bid Package – Westwood Parking Improvement Project - estimate is $110,000.00.

until Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 10:00 am local time, when they will be opened and read aloud.  Bids shall be submitted in duplicate in an opaque sealed envelope marked “Westwood Parking Improvements Project” and on the Bid Form provided.

No pre bid meeting will be held.  It will be the bidders responsibility to visit the site and become familiar with the site.  The contractor shall submit all questions to Mr. Michael Hogston no later than Tuesday May 12, 2020.  No addendums will be issued after Thursday May 14, 2020.


Contract Documents will be available Friday, May 1, 2020 and may be obtained for bidding purposes by direct purchase from SE Blueprint, Inc. 2035 Hamilton Ave. Cleveland, OH. PH: 216.241.2250.

To be considered, proposals must be made on the forms furnished with the Construction Documents, and must contain the name of every person interested therein.  Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond (per section 153.571 (ORC) in the amount of (100%) of the highest aggregate amount of the base bid plus all add alternates submitted by the bidder, or a certified check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of that bid.


West Geauga Local Schools reserves the right to waive informalities, to accept or reject any and all or parts of any and all bids, in whole or part or any combination thereof or award the contract to other than the lowest bidder.  No bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the closing time and receipt of bids.
