Welcome to Westwood Elementary School. My name is Mr. Jim Kish, and I am the school principal. I have worked in the West Geauga Local Schools for the past 28 years as a 6th-grade teacher, Middle School Assistant Principal, Middle School Principal, District Director of Public Relations and Development, and the current Principal of Westwood Elementary School.

Through the years, I have worked with hundreds of students and families and thoroughly enjoyed the variety of experiences. West Geauga is an outstanding community and school district.

As the principal, I aim to create the best possible learning environment for the children in our care. We accomplish this by collaborating as educators and involving parents and families in learning.

This year, we will emphasize Literacy and Mathematics as has been done in the past. Our teachers will be involved in various professional development opportunities to hone their educator skills. We will also use data collected through formative and summative assessments to show growth in each child.
