Help students develop a love for reading good books and a lifelong desire to read independently.

Provide students with access to books that they find fascinating.

Give students lots of time to read.

Provide explicit expert instruction.

Confer with students regularly in order to identify their specific needs and provide guidance and challenges to help them access increasingly complex texts.

Help students build a toolkit of strategies that can be used effectively when they are having difficulty.

I have been privileged to teach at Lindsey Elementary School for 19 years.  I have taught first grade, second grade, third grade and fifth grade.   

I graduated from John Carroll University and then received my master's degree from Ashland University.

I have two daughters, one at Ursuline College and one a senior and West G High School and my husband is a science teacher at Mayfield Middle School. 

I am proud to be a graduate of West Geauga as well as a member of the community.
