DISTRICT TESTS:

CogAT is an abilities test that measures students’ learned reasoning and problem-solving abilities in the three areas most linked to success in school - verbal, nonverbal, and quantitative.  West Geauga Local Schools utilize the CogAT test as a universal screener for gifted identification and service. With CogAT testing data, educators can make decisions that elevate a student’s academic experience.

MAP is a computer-adaptive test that measures what students know and informs educators as to what they need to learn next.  Students are tested at three intervals throughout the year (fall, winter, and spring), which allows educators to track student learning and progress through the school year and over the course of multiple years.  West Geauga Local Schools utilize MAP to monitor student growth throughout the school year.
